Itty-bitty beauty Mary-Kate Olsen might look a little weed-like, but now she is set to act a little weed-like aswell on Showtime’s hit dark comedy “Weeds”.
The Tinseltown tiny is finally flying without her sister Ashley by her side, which is a massive milestone considering that for the past 21 years the tantalizing twins have been inseparable on-screen.
“Weeds” will give Mary-Kate the chance to play up to her holier-than-thou real life name, as she will be playing a devoted Christian girl living in a newly developed church community who falls in love.
"I'm thrilled to be a part of the show," Olsen told the Hollywood Reporter. "It's really an honor to be a part of such a talented group of actors and writers."
It also seems that Mary-Kate is not only shaking off her sister, but shaking off her reel-time rep as a saintly star. As well as prayers and preaching, Olsen’s character Tara will have to deal with a “Full House” of mysteries and marijuana.
"It's an adult show with adult subject matter, and we're confident Mary-Kate is right for the role,” series creator and executive producer Jenji Kohan told the site. “Audiences have seen only one side of Mary-Kate, but here we'll see her in a whole new light."
