Richie Had Fans Raging

Sunday Night’s MTV Video Music Awards in Sydney saw a heap of Hollywood heartthrobs including Pink, Nicole Richie, Good Charlotte, Jared Leto and Fergie hit the spot “Down Under’ for a ‘crikey’ of a time.
Well, it was styles and smiles for everyone except Snoop Dogg who was “dropped like it’s hot” by government officials who denied him entry into the country after deciding he was of ‘poor character’. While nobody “could let the dogg out”, the show had to go on.
A mildly meatier Nicole Richie disappointed deposits of frantic fans as she sprinted down the red carpet with sealed lips. The Tinseltown tiny refused to stop for talks, and was echoed with a hymn of hisses and boos from peeved paps and fuming fans as she bolted by.
“We’ve been waiting to see Nicole for two days straight,” cried a 17-year-old girl from Sydney. “We waited for ten hours at the airport and now all-day at the awards. We barely even got a glimpse, and I’m devastated.”
Itty bitty babe Richie caused media mayhem on her arrival, and her protection posse resorted to aggressive tactics to push away the paps.
The precious primaddona told organizers of the event that she wouldn’t be doing anything on her stay but present an award, and was even rude to staff on her Qantas flight from L.A to sunny Sydney.
“Nicole wasn’t very nice,” commented a cabin crew member. “She has no charm.”
Perhaps practice in primary pronunciation would benefit the “Simple” star, as she called upon Aussie country singer “Shan-non” instead of “Shannon” Noll.
And after Fergie’s publicity posse perused all the people, a decision was made that the “Glamorous” girl would follow the “Simple Life” way with her very own diva-like dash through. The saucy singer and show co-host walked away with “Sexiest Video” for her “Fergalicious” flirting.
As a comely change for the red-carpet cameras, Kristin Cavallari proved that she was far from shy.
“Being confident and approachable is so important,” the bubbly blonde beauty told me, after admitting that has just signed on to a new television series that ‘she can’t talk about just yet’.
And when is comes to celebrity style, Cavallari refuses to follow the rehab rage.
“It’s not that hard to keep it together,” she said. “Just don’t go out… well, don’t go out every night of the week anyway.”
But if you do, the “Laguna Beach” babe is all about Hollywood hotspot “Winston’s”.
Punk princess Pink paraded around in an Aussie designer Collette Dinnigan dress, donning her Australian fans as the ‘craziest of all’. And “Who Knew” that the punk princess was such a passionate romantic?
“Cary (her husband) and I stay in contact in whatever way we can when we’re apart. Email, phone, everything,” she said. “If you want to have a successful Hollywood marriage, you have stop taking everything so seriously!”
The soulful singer snagged the awards for Best Female Artist and Download of the Year.
And is it possible that Good Charlotte’s Benji Madden will hastily hurl from the Hollywood Hills to the Land of Oz when he marries Aussie babe Sophie Monk?
“I definitely want to become an Australian,” he confirmed. “I’ve always said that I want to raise my kids here.”
“Nicole and I will just come have to come and visit lots,” added brother Joel.
Hmmm… does that mean Miss Richie really is going from ‘Simple Life’ to ‘Simple Wife’?
Aside from being hosts and performers of the show, the Madden music moguls made it home with the Viewer’s Choice Award.
As for skills, let’s hope that Teddy Geiger sticks with singing over acting.
“This is by far the most exciting event I’ve ever been too,” commented the incredibly bored-looking 18-year-old, who whipped and won the award for Spankin’ New Artist and was saturated on-stage during his performance.
Even golden gossip goddess Perez Hilton flew in for the fancy frenzy, and revealed to me who his most beloved Boulevard beauties are.
“Aside from Paris Hilton, I won’t bag Angelina Jolie,” he said. “All that stuff about her and Brad being on the rocks, it’s BS I say.”
Jared Leto’s band 30 Seconds to Mars also made it to the MTV madness in the crocodile country to take trophies for Best Rock Video and Video of the Year. And the badboy himself wasn’t short of star-studded admirers.
“I can’t wait to meet Leto. He just has this awesome aura,” Rockstar Supernova runner-up Toby Rand told foxnews.com on the red carpet. “He’s slept with so many girls. I hope it’ll rub off on me.”
Other winners on the night included the Red Hot Chili Peppers who popped it with Best Group, while “SexyBack” star Justin Timberlake was honored with Best Hook-Up.
